WHY DOES RUBBING "VICKS" ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FEET STOP A COUGH?

IT NOT ONLY STOPS A COUGH, BUT IT ALSO RELIEVES NASAL CONGESTION. HOW?

I read this somewhere and tried it. I don't know if it was in my head or not, but it really did help!

I also rubbed the Vicks on my chest too though, which helped with the congestion, which also  helped with the cough.

So I don't know if rubbing it on my feet helped or not, but I do know that rubbing on my chest helped.
